Euregio.Net AG
Euregio.Net AG was founded in July 1995 with a private investment of 150,000 Euros from the Savelberg family. What started as an Internet Service Provider in the German-speaking community of Belgium quickly grew into a multi-faceted internet company.
Over the years, the company has invested more than 700,000 Euros in internet infrastructure and expanded into web hosting, development, training, marketing, and — most importantly — international content publishing, which became the cornerstone of the business.
Euregio.Net AG remains a privately held, family-owned company to this day.
The EasyScopes Entertainment Network
The EasyScopes Entertainment Network was started in December 1995 by Jochen "Joe" Savelberg and first launched on February 23, 1996. It began with the EasyScopes horoscope directory and quickly expanded to include love tests, quizzes, and other interactive entertainment content for women and teenage girls.
The network's second product, the original Internet LoveTest, was based on a computer game Joe created during high school. Launched the same day as EasyScopes.com, it became one of the first interactive quiz sites on the internet.
Today, the network comprises eight active sites across multiple languages, all content created in-house or by contracted external authors.
Notable Achievements
The network's sites have been featured in numerous magazines and publications, and Joe has been invited to speak at conferences across Europe and the United States.
In a landmark legal case, Euregio.Net AG successfully sued NASDAQ-listed copyright infringers, winning a six-figure settlement for lost revenues and punitive damages — affirming the value and originality of the network's content.
Joe was also one of five winners worldwide for the best idea to celebrate the Year 2000 in Times Square, New York.
Jochen "Joe" Savelberg
Joe started working with computers at the age of 9 and wrote his first database application in BASIC while still in primary school. During high school, he developed a passion for desktop publishing and computer networks, working freelance for the largest Macintosh user group in Europe.
As an AFS exchange student in Australia, he became editor of the school magazine — creating the school's first computer-produced publication. Upon returning to university, he launched the first ISP business in German-speaking Belgium together with his parents, which eventually grew into Euregio.Net AG and the EasyScopes Entertainment Network.
Outside of work, Joe is an avid sports enthusiast who has gone skydiving, driven a Formula 1 car in Spain, and has been an active darts league player since 2007.
